Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The animation shows a rotating parabolic dish. The dish is solid and it has exactly the same shape as a fluid rotating at that angular velocity would have. The dark dot is a puck that can slide over the surface with very little friction. When the puck is co-rotating with the dish, then it will neither climb up the slope nor slump down. This 256x256 pix animation is a larger version of the left side of the following 256x128 pix animation: Image:Parabolic_dish_circle_stationary.gif
