Description
Svenska: Parerplåtar (tsuba) och andra delar av svärdets montering.

Parerplåten (tsuba) skiljde klingan från handtaget och förhindrade användarens hand att halka ut på klingan. Den gav också balans åt svärdet. Både före, under och efter Edo-perioden var parerplåtar och andra mindre delar (ko-dôgu) av svärdets montering samlarobjekt. I och med öppnandet av Japan 1854 började även icke-japaner samla. Ett av skälen till spridningen utanför Japan var att bärandet av svärd förbjöds 1876 och delarna till vapnen styckades upp och såldes. En del parerplåtar gjordes uttryckligen för export och är större än funktionella parerplåtar.

När behovet av svärdsdetaljer för monteringar minskade började en del metallkonstnärer tillverka metallvaser och andra föremål.
