Summary[edit]

Description

Our yellow perch should be hatching any day now!

Working with perch eggs is different from anything else we do. What makes them so unique is the gelatinous strands that they are found in. This gooey substance protects the eggs and helps them cling to structure.

Right before the eggs are about to hatch, we take them to our pond and drape them over a sunken evergreen tree. This simulates what they would experience in the wild.
