Cited Pilot Home From Italy Is Wed. Another out-of-town wedding, exciting news for their friends in the Eastbay, is the announcement of the marriage of Miss Elizabeth Frances Edmund of Santa Cruz to Lieut. Perry Arthur Olsen, A.A.F., which took place Sunday, June 24, in the First Congregational Church, Santa Cruz. The ceremony followed by a day the return of the benedict from overseas, where he was a pilot on a B-17 Flying Fortress, attached to the 15th Army Air Forces based in Italy. Lieutenant Olsen was awarded the Presidential Citation, Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, has been recommended for the Distinguished Flying Cross and completed 57 combat missions. Assigned to inactive duty, but subject to call if needed, the officer will now resume his duties at the University of California School of Medicine. His bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey W. Edmund of Santa Cruz and is a twin of Miss Mary Edmund, U.C. student, who was her maid of honor. Miss Joan Bailey and Miss Muriel Tweedie, former classmates, were bridesmaids with Gloria and Marilyn Graham of Oakland, nieces of the benedict in the role of flower maidens. Robert Scott Chalfant was best man and the ushers, William Edmund, John Beal and Donald F. Graham, brother-in-law of the bridegroom. Several hundred friends of the couple attended the reception at the home of the bride's parents at Pasatiempo Country Club overlooking Monterey Bay. Lieutenant Olsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry M. Olsen of Sunnyhills Road, Oakland, is a brother of Mrs. Donald F. Graham and of Mrs. Wallace M. Higginbotham of Oakland. His bride is a Chi Omega at the University of California. She has a brother, John, in the U.S. Navy.
