English: Philip the Good, Duke of Burgundy
  • Contents: Statutes and armorial of the Order of the Golden Fleece
  • Place of origin, date: Southern Netherlands; 1561. Added section (ff. 67-88) and miniatures: Southern Netherlands; 1601
  • Material: Paper (and vellum), ff. 88, 283x189 (245x155; after f. 67: 245x145/150) mm, several calligraphic scripts, Binding: 18th-century brown leather; gilt; with coat of arms of Stadholder William V
  • Decoration: 93 paper pages with coats of arms painted over woodcut outlines Added: 3 full-page miniatures on vellum
  • Provenance: Acquired c. 1601 by Philip William (1554-1618), the oldest son of Prince William of Orange, who was received in the Order of the Golden Fleece in 1598; by descent to the Princes of Orange-Nassau, the later Stadholders, at The Hague; transfered in 1798 to the then newly-erected National Library (now: Koninklijke Bibliotheek)
  • Annotation: 3 leaves with miniatures lost before f. 17 (Charles the Bold), f. 22a (Maximilian of Austria), f. 37 (Charles V)
