English: The Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition (AYPE) was a world's fair held in Seattle to publicize the development of the Pacific Northwest. The fairgrounds were designed by the Olmsted Brothers landscape architecture firm and located on the campus of the University of Washington. Several of the buildings and the landscaping survive, continuing to shape the layout of the campus.
This photo shows photographers posing in front of the Photographic Building at the north end of the Pay Streak on the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition fairgrounds. The man in the light suit to the left of the large tripod many be AYPE Official Photographer Frank H. Nowell. Nowell and his crew made many thousand of images, which were displayed and sold at the fair and used in official publications.
