Summary[edit]
DescriptionPiazza e chiesa di S. Andrea della Valle (v2) by Giovanni Battista Falda (1655).png |
English: View of the facade of the Church of Sant'Andrea della Valle completed under Pope, Alexander VII (1 in the image). On the left of the church is the building hosting the Teatini Priests (2 in the image), also completed under Pope, Alexander VII. The name "Teatini" refers to the origin of the order, in particular, to one of its founders, who held the titled of "episcopus theatinus," i.e. Bishop of Chieti (a city close to the east coast of central Italy.) The cupola of the church tops Sant'Andrea (3 in the image). |
