| Description |
English: Pier head, Portreath The pier was extended out along the edge of a ridge of rocks in 1824 to provide a more sheltered entrance to the harbour. It is still a narrow and difficult entrance and must have been really challenging in the days of sail if there was any sort of a sea running bearing in mind this is not a particularly stormy day. |
