עברית: אזור השוק, כמו אזורים אחרים ביפו, שימש קבוצות צלבניות שחיו באזור, אך נהרס והוקם מחדש בתקופה העות'מאנית. השוק עצמו פועל במקום מהמאה ה-19, תקופה בה פרחו חיי מסחר מקומיים ויפו שימשה עיר נמל ומרכז לעולי רגל. בתקופת המנדט הבריטי התגבש השוק לעיצובו המוכר כיום. בשנים האחרונות, ובמסגרת עבודות עיריית תל אביב לשימור ושיקום אזורים ותיקים בעיר, נערכו במקום עבודות שיקום ובמתחם השוק הוקם "מרכז עמיעד" המשמש כמרכז לתערוכות, ירידים ומופעים (ויקפדיה)
