Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_76533_6jpeg Notes: בסמוך למתחם קברות המכבים מול מודיעין סמוך לכביש 443 בסוף במדרגות עץ נמצאים פתחי מערת קבורה מימי בית שני שהתגלתה במהלך הרחבת הכביש במערה שהייתה חתומה וסגורה ולכן השתמרה יש שלושה חדרי קבורה שבהם כוכים חצובים אשר בהם הונחו ארונות הקבורה גלוסקמאות על חלקם נכתבו שמות הנקברים באותיות עבריות ויווניות שמעון שרה מרים ומנלאוס במאות הראשונות לספירה היה נהוג לאסוף את עצמות הנפטרים מתוך קברים להכניסם למכלי אבן שהוכנסו לשקעים במערות לא כל כוכי הקבורה נחפרו עדיין
