"...après les inondations cataclysmiques d’octobre 1940 qui dévastèrent les deux tiers des Pyrénées-Orientales, il fallut reconstruire, réparer les énormes dégâts causés par les crues gigantesques des cours d’eau roussillonnais. Les GTE récemment créés furent mis à contribution... Le 412e GTE fut employé à la réparation des nombreux canaux d’irrigation du secteur, indispensables à l’agriculture, et à la restauration des berges de la Têt..."
English: Cabin between the River Têt and an irrigation canal ("Rec d'Illa"), with memorial plaque to the foreign workers who reconstructed the canal after a devastating flood in 1940.
