English: Plas Glynllifon At the time this was taken, this was part of Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor, and was largely abandoned and could not be visited. For a brief history of the estate and the family see http://www.gwynedd.gov.uk/gwy_doc.asp?cat=2915&doc=8255&Language=1
An attempt was made by the college in 2000 to sell the Plas, meeting with much local opposition. The only interest was shown by a former German rock musician, Ulrich John Roth of the Scorpions. This sale fell through. See http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/881240.stm The mansion has since been refurbished for weddings, conferences, lunch and dinners. |
