Summary[edit]

Description
English: Platform 10, Brighton Station The awning on the side of the station marks the spot where platform 10 once existed. Opened in 1882 when the station was expanded and the current roof structure built it mainly served the Kemp Town branch until passenger services were removed in 1933. For a while it served as a reversing line into the locomotive maintenance yarda which stood on this site until that too closed in the 1960s. When the loco works were pulled down in 1969 the track was lifted and this area became a car park.Recently with the development of the former loco works site this area has become the new pick up and put down point as well as a parking place for rail replacement bus services.
