English: The common wall lizard
Srpski (latinica): Zidni gušter je najrasprostranjeniji gušter u centralnoj i južnoj Evropi. Veličine je do 24 cm, pri čemu rep čini oko dve trećine ukupne dužine. Telo je relativno duguljasto, noge dobro razvijene. Mužjaci su krupniji od ženki i imaju veće glave, ali nešto kraća tela. Boja i šare leđne strane tela su veoma raznovrsni u različitim delovima areala, ali za jedinke u Srbiji je karakteristična smeđe-braon boja leđne strane tela, sa po jednom karakterističnim tamnim širokom prugom duž svakog boka, dok je trbušna strana tela bledo ili jarko narandžasta i kod mužjaka uvek izraženija nego kod ženki. U Srbiji je ova vrsta veoma rasprostranjena i naseljava sva prirodna i antropogeno izmenjena staništa koja imaju makar i malo kamenite podloge i dovoljno sunčeve svetlosti i toplote u toku dana, tako da je čest stanovnik ljudskih naselja, uključujući i velike gradove. Ženka leže od 2 do 10 jaja po leglu, a može proizvesti nekoliko legala godišnje. Mladunci dostižu polnu zrelost naredne godine po izleganju. Zabeležena dužina života ove vrste je do 7 godina u prirodi. |
