| Description |
English: Ponies grazing on Mogshade Hill, New Forest The top of Mogshade Hill has been 'improved' for grazing by commoners' stock, such as these ponies. The area has been reseeded and a ditch cut through the lawn in order to improve drainage. There is also a pond at the lower end of the drain. Around the edge of this lawn are a number of isolated old oak trees, such as the one behind these ponies. This region just to the south of the A31 dual carriageway is predominantly heathland, with conifer plantations and areas of improved lawn like that shown in the photo. |
