English: Portland Bill Lighthouse This third lighthouse of Portland, was lit for the first time on 11th January 1906 it was finally automated in 1996 ending 280 years of continuous lighthouse keepers' duty in Portland. The bright red and white livery of Portland Bill Lighthouse has been Portland's most enduring symbol ever since. |
