Manuscript letter

Archives Number: 1002/9.3-107#001

[Letterhead blind stamped with Kensington Palace and a crown, but used upside down]
Kensington
March. 13. 1885
My dear Mr. Dana –
Many thanks for yr note – of course the “Madhi” cannot be allowed to [smash?] the world unless it bows to him, but if he moderates his pretensions to [cuvesting?] the sons of his own Desert I wd leave him [p. 2] alone – if he makes a [??] Menu, I wd smash him. His appearance is an interesting phenomenon, coinciding as it does with Moslem prophecy, & we must see that the flame does not spread.
[p. 3] I am very glad to hear of you & from you again, I hope we may see you on this side of the water some day.
Believe me
Your Louise
[p. 1 bottom in pencil]: John D.S. Campbell
