La iglesia del Convento de San Francisco es el templo principal de la parroquia de Santiago de Viveiro (Lugo).

Es una construcción del siglo XIV, con nave única. comenzada por los franciscanos en el siglo XIII. De esta época se conservan 3 arcos descubiertos en la reforma de 1945 y una puerta. El ábside pasa por ser de los más bellos de la provincia. [Nota Mental: Hablar algún día largo y tendido de los ábsides de las iglesias franciscanas]

En la capilla de la <a href="http://www.semanasantaviveiro.com/cofradias/orden.htm" rel="nofollow">Orden Tercera</a> se guardan algunos grupos procesionales que hacen de la <a href="http://www.semanasantaviveiro.com/" rel="nofollow">Semana Santa de Viveiro</a> una de las mejores de Galicia.

Cuando en 1927 <a href="http://www.uclm.es/ceclm/fotografia_hispanic/fotografos/matilda_anderson.htm" rel="nofollow">Ruth Mathilda Anderson</a> llegó a esta villa no pudo por menos que retratar una procesión, la misma que entornando los ojos aún puedo ver bajando la escalinata...
