Kgl. Sächs. 2. Husaren-Regt. Nr.19 (Grimma) XIX Armee Korps from Glenn J. I think most likely Husaren-Regiment Nr. 19. Although based at Grimma and not Leipzig, it was a component of the Leipzig based 2. Kavallerie-Brigade Nr. 24. In any case I this photo predates the formation of Husaren-Regiment Nr. 20 (which only wore a field grey Attila). The Saxon Hussar's plume is strange. Saxon Hussars supposedly wore their plumes upright from their inception in 1875 unlike their Prussian counterparts who had drooping plumes until April 1903. |
