Summary
[edit]DescriptionPsathyrella spadicea 512107.jpg |
Cystidium of Psathyrella spadicea (Schaeff.) Singer Image location: Jenkinson Lake, El Dorado Co., California, USA These were growing in a cluster near the base of a conifer. Caps up to 4.8 cm across. Couldn’t get a spore print. Also unable to find spores or basidia under the microscope for three specimens tested, young and old. One smooth, brownish spore ~ 7.3 X 4.9 microns possibly from one of the fbs shown in photo. Plenty of Cheilocystidia and Pleurocystidia with incrustations and acute apexes. These seem to be sterile fruit-bodies of Psathyrella spadicea but I’m open to other suggestions. Recognized by sight
