Summary[edit]

Description
English: Building once located adjacent to the Interurban Building on Occidental Avenue. Originally 3-stories tall, it was built in 1890 by U.H. Corril and served as a hotel, originally the Queen City and later known as the Occidental Hotel (a far cry from Seattle's original Occidental Hotel). It was an early meeting place of the Rainier Association Football Club, one of Seattle's early soccer clubs. Originally containing 45 hotel rooms, The top floor was condemned and removed in the early 1910s due to shoddy construction but the rest of the building would hang on until 1965 when it and the 1-story building filling the corner were demolished for the current parking lot. The outlines of this building's original and later roofline and window openings can still be seen on the Interurban Building.
