Summary[edit]

Description
English: Administrative Hall Furnishings. Confucius Family Mansion, Qufu.

The relative simplicity of the Kong Family Mansion, when compared to Imperial establishments like the Forbidden City or even the next-door Confucius Temple, illustrates how jealously the emperors enforced the architectural prerogatives of the imperial family: yellow roof tiles, dougong sets, showy columns, etc. The Mansion, although large and splendid as befits a noble house, presents a more down-to-earth appearance.

The furnishings in the hall are Qing-dynasty originals.
