| Description |
English: The unusual turf baseball field of Rachel Carson Playground at Kissena Corridor Park, at Colden Street and Geranium Street in Flushing, Queens. The field's surface quite unusual, consisting of patches of bright green artificial turf which are softer than old-school (tear-your-ACL) AstroTurf, but not nearly as soft (or safe) as modern turf surfaces. Furthermore, the field has no bases or foul lines, making it seem like a hasty job. Although, satellite images from less than 10 years ago show a concrete field, so I guess this is better.
