Summary[edit]
DescriptionRailway bus, Coleraine - geograph.org.uk - 995187.jpg |
English: Railway bus, Coleraine. At one time NIR was subject to considerable disruption caused by what the media called "security alerts" ie "bomb hoaxes" to the rest of us. In the days before Translink, NIR had to hire substitute buses from Ulsterbus or Citybus. It solved the problem by buying three coaches which were painted in railway livery. One is seen outside Coleraine station as passengers board from a train just arrived from Belfast. The Londonderry line had been closed between Coleraine and Castlerock following a bridge strike by an oversize lorry. See also 1170080. |
