| Description |
English: Red Hill Common A narrow common sandwiched between A347 to the West and housing to the East, local nature reserve since 2005. To the East, a strip of woodland, conifers to the South and broad-leaved to the North; to the West, grassland and scrub. Historically, one of five parcels of land not sold off when Chistchurch was enclosed in 1802 (because they were not economically valuable); reserved for turbary rights for locals, and sold to Bournemouth Corporation in 1906. http://www.bournemouth.gov.uk/textonly/Residents/Historical_Bournemouth/Redhill_Park_and_Common_History.asp |
