Description
English:
Reformed Church. It is the oldest building in the city, built between 1785 and 1788 according to the plans of Károly Rabl. The 2000-seater, late-Baroque and Copf-style building (restored in neoclassical style) has three naves. The roof of the tower was the work of János Kréter, a carpenter from Eger. In 1828 the church burned down due to a lightning strike, and the restoration and reconstruction was completed in 1830. In 1888 two porticos were added. On the façade, above the western entrance, there is a Latin language plaque commemorating the construction of the church. - Széchenyi Street (Road 4201) and Kálvin Street corner, Kisújszállás, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County, Hungary.

Református templom, nyugati bejárata felett 1888 évszám. A város legrégibb épülete, amely 1785-1788 között Rabl Károly tervei alapján épült. A 2000 férőhelyes, késő barokk és copfstílusú (klasszicista stílusban helyreállított) épület háromhajós. A toronytető Kréter János egri ács munkája volt. 1828-ban villámcsapás következtében leégett a templom, a helyreállítás és átépítés 1830-ban fejeződött be. A szomszédos park területe a település legmagasabb pontja, 87,65 m tszf. ezért épült ide a templom a parkosított terület ma a Kálvin tér. 1717-1720 körül épült a 'patics' (fa-vessző-nád-sár) falú első református templom. Mellette kőből 1741-1743-ban épült az ún. tűzőrtorony ami ma a templom része. 1755-ben téglaalpú vályogtemplomot építettek Csermák Vencel debreceni építőmesterrel. 1785-1788 között épült a jelenlegi templom az építés idején imaházban tartották a szertartásokat. 1809-ben a tornyot megemelték (magasították?) a tüzöröknek vörösrézfedeles (tetős) ún. vigyázó házat építettek. 1888-ban két 'belépőt' portikust építettek /forrás helyi tájékoztató/ - A homlokzaton a nyugati bejárat felett egy latin nyelvű emléktábla található ami a templom építéséről emlékezik meg. - Szintén a homlokzaton ' 13-as jász-kun huszárok emléktáblája' Nemes István (tervező), Dávid Endre (kőfaragó, közreműködő), Papi Lajos (kőfaragó, közreműködő) készítette műkő domborműves márvány emléktábla()[1] - 1933-ban alakult a jász-kun 13. huszárezred bajtársi egyesületének kisújszállási csoportja - '1. M 2197 Református templom /Műemlék (Kálvin utca 1.)' nyilvántartási számon, védettségi kategóriában, hrsz.-on, megnevezéssel, címen Nemzeti Jogszabálytár 2023-as rendelet alapján műemléki védelem alatt - A 'református templom műemléki környezete' része azonosító: 6011, törzsszám: 9964 - Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok megye, Kisújszállás, Kálvin utca és Széchenyi utca (4201-es számú mellékút) sarok, hrsz.: 2197.
