Description
Español: En breve nos iremos de Qala-i-Naw, una ciudad al oeste de la provincia afgana de Badghis, donde llegamos en 2005.

Primero en un pequeño cuartel y, desde 2010, en la base 'Ruy González de Clavijo', han sido ocho años de esfuerzo y duro trabajo que culmina ahora tras meses de repliegue.

Vehículos y material se han ido trasladando hacia Herat para su repatriación a España. Son convoyes que salen de Qala-i-Naw y deben recorrer 150 km. por la ruta 'Lapis', un itinerario en el que invierten entre 12 y 16 horas por las precarias condiciones.

Entre las dificultades está el temido paso de Sabzak, a 2.500 metros de altitud, un tortuoso camino de tierra que bordea un desfiladero donde opera la insurgencia.

Para culminar con éxito el trayecto, es imprescindible extremar las medidas de seguridad. Los helicópteros 'Tigre', 'Cougar' y 'Chinook' constituyen un grupo táctico para el reconocimiento, escolta y apoyo a los convoyes.

Las columnas van encabezadas por vehículos antiminas 'Husky' que las protegen contra artefactos explosivos improvisados.

Por su parte, los aviones no tripulados recorren la ruta para localizar posibles elementos adversos.

Además, efectivos españoles y del Ejército afgano vigilan desde los puestos de observación preparados para posibles incidencias.

Es, en definitiva, el mayor reto logístico al que se han enfrentado las Fuerzas Armadas españolas y se está superando con un rotundo éxito.
