Description
Català: Retaule d'Ànimes i missa de sant Gregori (detall d'un penjat), atribuït al Mestre de Perea, tremp i oli sobre taula, 264 x 192 cm. Finals del segle XV, museu catedralici de Sogorb.

Estilísticament adscrit al grup d'obres afins a la pintura de l'anomenat mestre de Perea, se sap que a la catedral de Sogorb existia una capella amb retaule d'Ànimes, i no hi han dades precises expliquen que puga tractar-se d'aquest. Segurament va ser retirat durant la remodelació neoclàssica de la catedral entre 1791 i 1795, com va succeir amb altres capelles i retaules, sent cedit en època imprecisa, juntament amb altres taules, a la parròquia del Toro, a la qual va ser recomprat a 1952.

Retaule del tipus artesa, porta taula central amb l'escena de la Missa de Sant Gregori, Judici Final i Ànimes, amb sant Joan Baptista i santa Caterina d'Alexandria de cos sencer a les taules laterals. La predel·la consta de cinc escenes de la Passió de Crist, amb l'Oració a l'hort, la Flagel·lació, la Crucifixió (centre), el Camí del Calvari amb la creu a coll i la Pietat. En les polseres, juntament amb els escuts del donant, deu apòstols: sant Tomàs, sant Felip, sant Bartomeu, sant Maties, sant Simó Apòstol, sant Judes Apòstol, Jaume el Menor, Jaume el Major, sant Pere i sant Joan.
