Description
Català: Retaule de la Visitació, mestre de Sogorb (actiu durant la segona meitat del segle XV), tremp sobre taula, 380 x 276 cm. ca.1460 -1470, museu catedralici de Sogorb.

Atribuït per Gudiol l'anònim Mestre de la Visitació, autor del documentat retaule (1466-1475) encarregat pel canonge Nadal Garcés dedicat també a la Visitació d'una de les capelles del deambulatori de la catedral de Barcelona, procedeix de la Sala Capitular del claustre de la catedral de Sogorb, per al que probablement va ser realitzat uns trenta anys després de la fundació de l'aula en 1417. Va romandre en aquest lloc fins a 1936, sent llavors quan va perdre tota la seva ornamentació arquitectònica i polseres, recuperades en la darrera restauració.

Constituït per cinc grans taules de fusta exòtica, potser africana, al carrer central hi ha la Visitació de la Mare de Déu a Santa Isabel amb donant als peus i el Calvari a la part superior. Al carrer lateral esquerra, de dalt a baix, sant Bernadí de Siena i San Lucas. A la dreta, una santa Màrtir no identificada i un sant Bisbe, tampoc identificat. A la predel·la, d'esquerra a dreta: sant Abdó, sant Pere, la Pietat, sant Joan Evangelista i sant Senent.
