English: River Spey in Spate (5) The rushing floodwater is deflected round the support in the middle of the old Spey Bridge. The stone arch on the left is part of the original bridge, and the iron arch on the right was built in the 1850s to replace the rest of the stone bridge, spanning the deepest part of the river, which was washed away by the great flood of 1829. |
