Summary[edit]

Description
English: Riverside Park, Lancaster This crane is one of the few signs that this was the site of Lancaster Green Ayre station and coal yard, although it actually came from Hornby.

The station was first opened by the "Little" North Western Railway in 1849, and was rebuilt after being taken over by the Midland Railway in 1871. Passenger services ceased in 1966, but a single track line to Lancaster Power Station (near the Lune Aqueduct) remained for coal traffic until 1976.

The Riverside Park was opened in 1978.
