| Description |
English: Road into Cowley This is the road into Cowley from the A435. It was at one time the private drive to the manor.
Electricity was run from the manor to lamps on top of the pillars, and there used to be a pair of wooden gates here. These were opened and closed by the lodge keeper who lived in a lodge to the right of the photo. This and the bottom lodge were demolished in the 1960s as being unfit to live in. There was no water supply and the people living there had to walk across a field to a spring to collect water. |
