Description
English: Georgian theatre director wikipedia:Robert Sturua was photographed in the workshop of Georgian and Ukrainian artist Temo Svirely on Lukyanivska Street 69/71 in Kyiv, Ukraine, in 2006. Robert Sturua poses against the backdrop of one of Temo Svirely's iconic works "Adamiani", a photo installation, 200x 300 cm (triptych. This triptych was created for the project "Invasio", which took place in Kyiv in 2003 and involved the participation of 22 contemporary Ukrainian artists. It was the first collective action of Ukrainian artists who openly protested against the war in Chechnya and sought to draw society's attention to the Chechen tragedy. In the Georgian, ადამიანი "adamiani" means "human". At that time, the painter turned for the first time to a new medium, photo installation. The famous painted diptych by Albrecht Dürer was "translated" by him into black and white photography. Adam and Eve found themselves separated by a black rectangle of infinity (the middle part of the triptych). Approaching closely, one could discern letters on the troubled black background, revealing a list of slain civilians in Chechnya, all with surnames starting with the letter "A".
