Summary[edit]

Description
English: Western Knitting Mill — built in 1896, in Rochester, Michigan.
  • Owned by brothers William & Charles Chapman and William Yawkey. With an output of 100,000 dozen pairs annually, it was one of the largest producers of these goods in the world.
  • Later adapted and utilized during World War II for incendiary production.
  • Today the mill is fully restored and is home to a restaurant and several businesses.
  • Photo taken June 23, 2007.
