Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: Royal Observatory, Edinburgh On Blackford Hill, the second of Edinburgh's observatories. It replaced the first, on Calton Hill, which suffered from light pollution as time went by. The same happened here, and a third observatory was located at Eskdalemuir in the Borders. Light pollution continued to be a problem and observations now take place from various exotic locations. This is still, however, a working observatory. |
