"La lastra, pubblicata nel catalogo della grande esposizione mantovana del 1937 curata da Nino Giannantoni e dedicata all'iconografia gonzaghesca, riprende il frammento della grande Pala della S.S. Trinità di P.P. Rubens con il ritratto di Margherita Gonzaga, figlia del duca Vincenzo I Gonzaga e di Eleonora de Medici (Mostra iconografica gonzaghesca - catalogo delle opere (Mantova, Palazzo Ducale 16 maggio-19 settembre 1937), Mantova, L'Artistica, 1937, n. 208, p. 46). La tela, entrata nel 1931 nella collezione londinese di Ludwig Burchard, è stata battuta all'asta da Christie's nel 1999 (Sale 6152/ Lot 43).
