Description
English: The arms show in the right half the arms of the former rulers in the area : the upper half shows the escarbuncle of the Counts of Kleve, the lower half the chequered bar of the Counts of the Mark. The left half shows the Rhein river and the arms of the Prussian Rhine Province.
Deutsch: Blasonierung:
„Gespalten und vorne geteilt; oben in Rot eine goldene Lilienhaspel, unten in Gold ein in drei Reihen von Rot und Silber geschachter Balken; hinten in Grün ein schräger silberner Wellenbalken.“
Die beiden Embleme vorn beziehen sich auf die landesherrschaftliche Zugehörigkeit zu Kleve und Mark. Die Grafen von der Mark führten den Schachbalken in ihrem Wappen, die Klever Grafen die Lilienhaspel. Hinten das Wappen der Rheinprovinz zu der Ruhrort gehört.
