| Description |
English: Rule's and Holman's Engine Houses These engine houses were part of the South Caradon Mine. Rule's shaft engine house is almost completely demolished with just part of a wall standing. It used to contain a pumping engine to rid the workings of water. The more complete engine house sits over Holman's shaft and is also a pumping engine house, built in 1875 when the smaller Rules engine proved unable to clear all the water from the growing mine workings. In the distance is the village of St Cleer. |
