Summary[edit]

Description
English: Russia - Poland 1914 censored cover sent from Warsaw to Stockholm Sweden. Franked 15 kopecks, canceled by mute ring cancel. Reverse purple oval military censor hand stamp of Petrograd and arrival machine cancel 'STOCKHOLM 1 *ANK*AVD* / 29.10.14 TUR 2'. The efforts to conceal the point of origin by using mute cancels failed usually, especially on commercial mail. This cover illustrates that the preprinted text defeats the purpose of the mute cancel, it gives away its origin - Warsaw.
