Summary
[edit]DescriptionSaint Mary The Virgin - geograph.org.uk - 1232547.jpg |
English: Inside the nave of the ruined former church of St Mary The Virgin, Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire, England, looking west. The earliest record of this church is dated 1320. The tower was built in 1691 when Thomas Furnis was curate. His initials are inscribed above the doorway. In 1827 St Mary's was abandoned and material from it was used to build a new church, Saint Cuthbert's. |
