Summary[edit]

Description
English: The G. A. Boeckling Building, 105 West Shoreline Drive, Sandusky, Ohio, December 2020. Named in honor of George Arthur Boeckling, founder of what was originally known as Cedar Point Pleasure Resort, this handsome 1928 building combines Spanish Colonial Revival architecture (stucco façade, row of brick corbeling above the first floor, large arcaded windows, colorful mosaics between said arches) with a healthy dose of influence from the then-trending Arts & Crafts Movement (widely overhanging roof eaves with prominent decorative brackets underneath). The building was originally home of the park's administrative offices and was the point of departure for the G. A. Boeckling pleasure ferry that transported park visitors to and from downtown Sandusky. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and now houses the local Coastal Management Office for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
