Summary
[edit]DescriptionSettlement lagoon and clay waste, Ringslade Quarry - geograph.org.uk - 1730044.jpg |
English: Settlement lagoon and clay waste, Ringslade Quarry As I understand it, surface water and groundwater accumulate in a clay quarry. Water is pumped into lagoons, where the clay settles out (whether helped by a flocculating agent I know not). Clean water is passed to watercourses. What happens to the clay sediment? Perhaps this is it dredged out on to the banks, although it looks more like tipping of quarry waste. |
