Summary[edit]

Description Setup for close-up photography using a low power microscope objective as a macro lens. Nikon D40, extension tubes, Nikon to M42 adapter ring, conical M42 to RMS adapter, 2X microscope objective. Camera mounted on macro focusing rail supported by a Celestron table top tripod designed for a small spotting scope. Specimen is in a white light box to capture and diffuse pop-up flash. Manual focusing is assisted by a Nikon DK-21M viewfinder magnifier and a small hand held LED flashlight. Exposures are triggered by remote release; minor changes in focus are made between multiple exposures to permit focus stacking.
