Als das die Genossen hörten, meinten sie, Herr Schulz ruft uns, wenn er hinüber kommt, so versuchen wir es auch, wateten ins Wasser und ertranken. Ein Frosch hat alle sechse auch noch ums Leben gebracht und niemand von den sieben Schwaben kam jemals wieder nach Haus. = When the comrades heard that, they said, "Herr Schulz will call us when he reaches the other side, then we'll try it too." They all waded into the water and drowned. A frog killed all six of them, and so none of the seven Swabians ever came home again.
