Summary[edit]
DescriptionShanghai Skyline from the Bund.jpg |
This is a view of the Pudong area from across the Huang Pu river on the Bund. You really don't get a good sense of scale here, but the Jin Mao Tower used to be the tallest building in China until the Shanghai World Financial Tower came along. Soon it'll be dwarfed by the Shanghai Tower seen under construction here. For reference, the Shanghai Tower should be just a bit over 3X the height of the Calgary Tower. I really like this shot, because they were kind enough to put a date on it for me. :) Shanghai is a city proper of about 20 million people. Even towards the "country side" where zhu jia jiao is, the surrounding area qingpu is still about 1 million people (not much smaller than Calgary). |
