| Description |
English: Sheffield: postbox № S1 1263, Pond Street This peculiar postbox stands outside the main Sheffield Royal Mail delivery office. It is a sort of hybrid box, with franked mail going in the left-hand opening (which has a sliding door) and ordinary stamped mail in the right-hand slot.
Given that it is outside what must be a very significant building postally, it is perhaps surprising that the box is not emptied on Saturdays only on weekdays. The electronic display was blank just now, and one can only guess what information it might impart when it is in use. |
