| Description |
English: Liverpool - Harwich 'North Country Continental' express at Sheffield Victoria. View NW, towards Manchester via the Woodhead Route; ex-Great Central Manchester - Sheffield main line. This important cross-country express left Liverpool Central at 13.15, ran by the Cheshire Lines to Manchester Central, then round the Fallowfield Loop to the Woodhead line and Sheffield, thence via Retford, Lincoln, March, Ely and Ipswich to Harwich (Parkeston Quay), arriving at 21.15 to connect with the night sailing to Hook of Holland. It was an unusually long and arduous working for this LNE B17/2 'Footballer' No. 61660 'Hull City', which ran right through from Manchester. |
