English: Shropshire Union Canal at Woodseves Cutting. Please forgive another photo of Hollings Bridge No.58 this one is taken from the north.
The Birmingham & Liverpool Junction Canal (later the Shropshire Union) was completed in 1835. By that time the idea of contour canals had been largely abandoned and the canal was built as straight as possible with cuttings and embankments. Woodseves is one of these cuttings.
