English: Shropshire Union Canal by Minshull Lock, Cheshire. The ground paddles are up, allowing water into the lock. This is lifting a narrowboat (out of sight, but already in the chamber) by eleven feet (3.35 metres). Jackson's Bridge is seen in the distance.
