Description
Deutsch: Historische Stadtbefestigung in Siegen/Westfalen: Erinnerungstafel für den Olbers-Turm, vormals Teil der Stadtmauer. Inschrift der Tafel: „Hier stand der wichtigste mittelalterliche Wehrturm im Bereich der südlichen Stadtbefestigung. 1552 wird er erstmals unter dem Namen ,Olbers-Turm‘ erwähnt, besetzbar mit 36 Mann, Büchsen und Geschütz, verkauft 1818, diente er Wohnzwecken bis zum endgültigen Abbruch 1878. Nahebei befanden sich seit 1668 zwei städtische Flutlöcher zur Abwasserbeseitigung.“
